About Lumoterra
First warmth, then growth
My name is Bo. Besides my full-time job, I handcraft everything for Lumoterra because it brings me peace and allows me to create something for others.
I have a busy brain, which means I appreciate structure, but not too much. Room for creativity. Enough to flourish.
I worked in a lab for several years. Interesting, but the environment was cold and rigid, with no room for creativity. After a while, it felt like I was holding back. As if someone said: you can use colors, but stay within the lines.
I didn't want that.
In the lab, we used a lot of chemical processes, and that's how I learned about paraffin. A chemical substance that freezes cell processes so you can view tissue under a microscope. In the lab, we always handled it with extreme caution, given that it is a carcinogenic substance. Yet, it's in almost every candle you buy.
I live in a small studio and wondered: what does that do to your health?
No. That's not what I wanted, not for myself, not for others.
That's why I use rapeseed wax, a natural plant-based wax.
Meanwhile, I have a job where I feel at home. A warm team, room for who I am. That is warmth. Not self-evident, but it suddenly made everything possible.
A busy mind also needs a moment of calm. What helps me is lighting a candle. Doing something with my hands, writing, drawing. Just breathing out.
But just a candle wasn't enough. In my studio, empty candle jars stood on the windowsill. A shame. So I thought: this needs to be reusable. But for what?
Plants, they also bring me peace. Just like candles. What if you combine the two?
A candle, and when it's gone, something grows in its place. Literally. That's what the plant kit is for.
Rapeseed wax with real botanical scents. Natural ingredients that I truly stand behind.
Whether it's a gift or something for yourself, it means a lot to me that a Lumoterra candle can be part of your moments.
From warmth to growth.
